The Audio Window

The Audio Window consists of up to three sections for displaying sonogram/waveform, frequency, and high-resolution spectral data.

The initial appearance of the Audio Window can be set using the Audio Window Configuration Dialog.

Each of the three sub-panels of the Audio Window may be hidden or displayed using the View submenu of the main menu, or by right-clicking on a panel and selecting "Hide".

The frequency display is toggled between Frequency Plot and Piano Panel modes by selecting View - Frequency from the main menu, or by right-clicking on the frequency display and selecting the desired view mode.

Depending on your Audio Window configuration settings, a Note or Frequency Map may not be displayed by default, but if the icon of an existing Note Map or Frequency Map is dragged onto the Audio Window, it will be integrated into the bottom portion of the window.

The Audio Window sub-panels are integrated in several ways:

  • After drag-selecting a region of the wave-form, the selection will be duplicated in the Note Map panel, and the spectral content of the selected audio will be displayed in the frequency (or piano) panel.
  • Similarly, drag-selections made in the Note Map display are duplicated in the wave-form display.
  • During audio playback, a cursor traverses the waveform and spectral displays, and the frequency display is continuously updated with the spectral content of the audio currently being played.
