The Wave Panel
The Wave Panel displays the sonogram of an opened Audio
File. The Wave Panel provides the following types of
functionality:

main menu, or by pressing the Options Button |

While zoomed, pressing the left or right arrow kills will shift the view
by 50% of its width, by 100% of its width if the Control key is also
pressed, or by 200% of its width if the Shift key is also pressed.
Double-clicking the Wave Panel will remove any selection and zoom out to the entire waveform. |

| By pressing the left mouse button on the Wave Panel,
dragging to a new location, and releasing the mouse button, the selected
rectangular region will be hilighted as illustrated in the figure.
Even if only one channel of a stereo waveform was selected, regions of
both channels will be hilighted.
If you are making a drag-selection and change your mind, pressing <Escape> will cancel the new selection. Upon making a new selection, several events occur:

Regions of the sonogram may also be selected by choosing Selection -
Sample/Time Range from the context menu, or by pressing Time-Selection
button If "Play Selection Only" is checked in the Audio menu, subsequent playback will span only the selected region of the waveform (see Audio Window Configuration).
