The MIDI Window

 

The MIDI Window captures MIDI events generated during audio recording and playback, and provides functions for editing events, optimizing MIDI timing, saving standard MIDI files, or exporting text files.


 

Displaying the MIDI Window

Pressing <Control-M> or selecting View-MIDI from the main menu toggles the MIDI window display state.

 

The MIDI Window Toolbar

Save As Pressing this button opens a "Save As" dialog, allowing you to save the MIDI content either as a standard type 1 MIDI file, or as a text file.

 

MIDI Device This drop-down list contains each of the MIDI devices found attached to your computer when AudioExplorer was started.  The Emit and Playback functions send MIDI events to the selected device.

If no devices were found, this drop-down will be blank.

 

Emit When checked, MIDI events will be emitted to the selected device during audio recording or playback.

 

Clear Clear the event list.

 

Options Open the Note Processor / MIDI Assembler Options dialog.

 


 

MIDI Window Context-menu Commands

Edit Note Invoke the Note Editor to modify the currently selected MIDI note.
Filter Open the Filter Dialog to select MIDI events based on their timing properties, velocities, pitches, and other values.
Optimize Timing Open the MIDI Note Window to view the MIDI events graphically and to use the timing optimizer.
Delete Delete the selected note(s).
