The Note Region Editor
| The Note Region editor allows you to make
fine adjustments to a note region's timing, to change its hidden or
merge status, and to rescan the signal vs. time profile of a region
using custom thresholds and timing metrics.
This editor is invoked by either double-clicking on a note region in the Dynamic Note Map Panel, or by selecting Note Regions - Edit/Rescan from this panel's context menu. The editor behaves slightly differently depending on whether you are editing a single note region or multiple note regions.

| View Profile | Pressing this button will open a Signal Profile Window showing the note region being edited. If you are editing multiple regions, pressing the button repeatedly will cycle through those regions, refreshing the signal viewer display each time. |
| Reset | Pressing this button will reset all fields in the dialog to their initial (un-edited) values. |
| Cancel | Pressing this button will close the dialog without apply any changes. |

| Note Region
The upper part of the editor allows you to customize the selected note region. |
|
| Start Time | This is the time at which the note region begins. It cannot be changed if you are editing multiple regions. |
| End Time | This is the time at which the note region ends. It cannot be changed if you are editing multiple regions. |
| Max Time | This is the time at which the note region's signal is at a maximum. This value is determined from the signal profile, and cannot be changed. |
| Normal | When checked, the region is neither hidden nor merged. |
| Hidden | When checked, the region will not be converted to MIDI. |
| Merge Neighbors | When checked, the signals of neighboring notes may be merged with this note region. |
| Apply Only | The timing and property changes will be applied only to this note region. This option is not available if you are editing multiple regions. |
| Apply to All... | The timing changes will be applied to this note region, and property changes will be applied to all other note regions for the same note. |
| Apply to All in Range... | The timing changes will be applied to this note region, and property changes will be applied to all other note regions for the same note within the given time range. |
|

New settings will be applied, and the dialog will close. |

| Rescan
"Scanning" is the process wherein AudioExplorer generates Note Regions - it examines the signal vs. time profile for a note and detects time intervals during which the signal is above threshold. The Rescan section of the Note Region Editor allows you to customize the note-detection parameters for this note region. This may result in the creation of additional note regions. |
|
| Threshold | The threshold is the signal value above which a note is considered "on" or "active". |
| Maximum | If a note region's maximum signal is exactly the threshold, it is assigned a velocity of 0; if a note region's maximum signal is exactly the maximum, it is assigned a velocity of 127. Signals between these two extremes are assigned linearly or logarithmically, depending on which type of scaling was used to generate the note map. |
| Min Duration | AudioExplorer finds for "notes" by searching for time intervals over which a note's audio signal remains above its threshold. If AudioExplorer finds such an interval for a note, but the interval's length is less than the minimum duration, then that interval will not be interpreted "a note". |
| Stutter Time | Using the method described above, if AudioExplorer finds two "notes" but they are separated by a time interval less than the stutter time, then the two note intervals will be merged into a single note interval. |
| Rescan | Rescan the note region's signal vs. time profile using the entered parameters, update the Note Map Panel with the newly calculated regions, and close the dialog. |
